Chairman's Thoughts - June 2010

It is now a  year since the Association reformed as a web based organization.  Although it was a painful decision to make it has been fully justified as the Association continues to go from strength to strength. Our membership has increased by 20% and we have continued to produce an electronic version of our quarterly newsletter; Team Brief.

It has also been a sad year for the number of Movers who have had their final postings including Terry Titterington, Mick Acaster, David Austin, SAC Steve Johnstone. 

On a lighter note, we have held 2 successful Meet and Greets in the Swindon area with over 35 members making it each time. Further events planned which the Association are supporting include the Dave Wall golf. Logistics Trade Fishing and the annual Top Table at Lyneham. Details of these and other social events are on the Social pages.

In 2011 the Association will celebrate its 20^th Anniversary. It is our intention to mark this occasion with a reunion to be held over the late May Bank Holiday at RAF Lyneham. This will most probably be the last reunion to be held at Lyneham as the station will close by the end of 2012.

I know Mick Cocker and John Belcher would welcome any stories or photos that you would like to share on the site or for Team Brief. The most popular pages on the site continue to be the “Then and Now” and Course photos. A number of the course photos have appeared on FaceBook profiles.

If you haven’t yet joined the Association, it is a simple form to fill out and doesn’t cost you a penny….honest...............
