RAF Movements Association
The United Kingdom Mobile Air Movements Squadron (UKMAMS) Association was formed on 1 June 1991. On 1 October 2011, the Association reformed to become the RAF MAMS and Movements Squadrons (RAFMAMS) Association. The Association name was changed to The RAF Movements Association in 2020 to reflect that the Association was for all Movers.
The original formation of the Association followed many requests by those who had served with UKMAMS, or the Near East Air Force (NEAF), the Far East Air Force (FEAF) and the Air Forces Middle East (AFME) Mobile Air Movements Squadrons or Sections for an Association where they could remain in contact with former Movers and hear about current Movements related occurrences.
Membership is open to ALL current and ex-service personnel of the:
Royal Air Force Trade Group 18 Movements
Royal Air Force Supply Trade holding the Qualified Equipment Air Movements Annotation (Q-EQ-AM)
Supply / Logistics Branch Officers (holding the Movements Specialisation)
4624 (County of Oxford) Royal Auxiliary Air Force, Movements Squadron
Movements Specialists from the Commonwealth Forces, the United States Air Force, Army or Marines
Team Brief is published on this site 2 or 3 times a year. Socially, there are planned to be at least 3 informal "Meet and Greets" a year and a more formal Association weekend every other year. Annually, the Movements Trade organises a Top Table Dining Out event in November for any WO /SNCO leaving that year. This is open to Association members too. Since 2015, the Association represented all Movers at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday.
